Presently, poly (3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxy valerate) (PHBV), received enormous attention as ideal alternatives for such traditional petroleum-derived plastics based on their biocompatibility and superior mechanical properties. However, high cost of such copolymer, due to expensive nature of feedstock, inefficient microbial processes and unfavorable downstream processing strategies restricts its large-scale commercial feasibility in the packaging sector.

OSCE is gaining global popularity for assessing medical students in various specialties. Our country uses it in multiple disciplines, but its application in psychiatry remains limited.

Variations in the Termination of the Popliteal Artery: A Multidetector Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA)-Based Retrospective Study.

Background: Comprehension of the intrucate anatomy and variations in the termination of the popliteal artery (PA) is increasingly essential for endovascular interventionists, plastic surgeons, vascular surgeons, and orthopedic surgeons, due to the rise in procedures like embolectomy, vascular grafting, free fibular flap surgery, and high-tibial osteotomy. Few studies from India have reported on the variant anatomy of PA termination, and none have used 128-slice tomography. This study aimed to observe the terminal branching pattern of the PA and the morphology of its terminal branches using 128-slice computed tomography angiography (CTA) and to analyze its relation to gender and laterality.

Synthesis and Assay of Vibrio Quorum Sensing Inhibitors.

Bacteria detect local population numbers using quorum sensing, a method of cell-cell communication broadly utilized to control bacterial behaviors. In Vibrio species, the master quorum sensing regulators LuxR/HapR control hundreds of quorum sensing genes, many of which influence virulence, metabolism, motility, and more. Thiophenesulfonamides are potent inhibitors of LuxR/HapR that bind the ligand pocket in these transcription factors and block downstream quorum sensing gene expression.
