Background: As part of the 2021 changes to breast reconstruction CPT codes, the Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) recommended adjustments to work RVUs (wRVUs) based on newly surveyed intraoperative times. Our objective was to gauge the accuracy of operative time and wRVU adjustments using national data as a benchmark.
Methods: We queried the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) database for operative times from 2005-2021 for reevaluated CPT codes.
Preserving a large number of essential yet highly unstable ribosomal DNA (rDNA) repeats is critical for the germline to perpetuate the genome through generations. Spontaneous rDNA loss must be countered by rDNA copy number (CN) expansion. Germline rDNA CN expansion is best understood in Drosophila melanogaster, which relies on unequal sister chromatid exchange (USCE) initiated by DNA breaks at rDNA.

We report our technique of cranial suspension of the lower lip with fascia lata slings to improve lip position. Correction of lip ptosis results in cessation of drooling, improved oral intake, and restoration of facial aesthetics.

Previous hornwort genomes represented only one genus, limiting the ability to infer evolution within hornworts and their early land plant ancestors. Here we report ten new chromosome-scale genomes representing all hornwort families and most of the genera.
