Objective: To review pediatric artificial intelligence (AI) implementation studies from 2010-2021 and analyze reported performance measures.

Methods: We searched PubMed/Medline, Embase CINHAL, Cochrane Library CENTRAL, IEEE and Web of Science with controlled vocabulary.

Inclusion Criteria: AI intervention in a pediatric clinical setting that learns from data (i.

Background: Antibiotic durations for uncomplicated skin/soft tissue infections (SSTI) often exceed the guideline-recommended 5-7 days. We assessed the effectiveness of a default duration order panel in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to reduce long prescriptions.

Methods: Cluster randomized trial of a SSTI order panel with default antibiotic durations (implemented 12/2021), compared to a control panel (no decision support) in 14 pediatric primary care clinics.

Article Synopsis
  • Male frogs use specific calls to attract mates and avoid competition, with their call characteristics influenced by their size and environment.
  • The acoustic adaptation hypothesis suggests that frogs evolve their calls to improve their reach and clarity in their habitats.
  • Research on Neotropical treefrogs revealed a significant relationship between body size and call frequency, but did not support the AAH claims linking calls to environmental factors, suggesting other influences like female choice may play a role.

Article Synopsis
  • Understanding pork tenderness and quality is complicated due to insufficient knowledge of the molecular factors involved, which this study aims to address through metabolomic and proteomic profiling.
  • The research involved analyzing 100 pork chops, aged for about two weeks, categorized by their tenderness using a star probe instrument, to identify differences in protein and metabolite levels.
  • Significant variations in the presence of 84 proteins and 22 metabolites were found between the most tender (Category A) and least tender pork chops (Category D), suggesting that tenderness is linked to slower pH decline and changes in muscle proteins.

Urological cancers represent 13.1% of cancer cases in the world, with a mean age of diagnosis of 67 years, making it a geriatric disease. The lack of participation and evaluation of treatments by the geriatric oncologic population has made their mortality rate higher than that of other oncologic population groups, urologic cancers being no exception.
