Article Synopsis
  • The TALAPRO-3 study investigates the effectiveness of combining two cancer treatments, talazoparib and enzalutamide, for patients with metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer (mCSPC), involving 599 participants from 27 countries.
  • mCSPC is a type of prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body and responds to treatments that lower testosterone levels.
  • The study aims to determine if the combination of talazoparib and enzalutamide improves survival without disease progression compared to a placebo with enzalutamide, while also assessing side effects, overall health, and quality of life among patients.

The synergy between hyaluronic acid (HA) and lipid molecules plays a crucial role in synovial fluids, cell coatings, Diseased cells in cancer and arthritis show changes in HA concentration and chain size, impacting the viscoelastic and mechanical properties of the cells. Although the solution behavior of HA is known in experiments, a molecular-level understanding of the role of HA in the dynamics at the interface of HA-water and the cellular boundary is lacking. Here, we perform atomistic molecular dynamics simulation of short HA chains in an explicit water solvent in the presence of a DPPC bilayer, relevant in pathological cases.

We explore the phase behavior of a binary colloidal system under external spatially periodic modulation. We perform Monte Carlo simulations on a binary mixture of big and small repulsive Lennard-Jones particles with a diameter ratio of 2:1. We characterize structure by isotropic and anisotropic pair correlation functions, cluster size distribution, bond angle distribution, order parameter, and specific heat.

Introduction: The outcome of recurrent/metastatic gynaecological malignancy has drastically improved with the introduction of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors and immunotherapy, but the use of these drugs in routine practice is complicated due to access barriers and their high cost in developing countries. The purpose of this study is to present the clinical response, outcome and safety of oral metronomic chemotherapy (OMCT) in resource-limited, financially constrained populations.

Methods: This is a retrospective study on patients with advanced gynaecological cancer treated at Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute, Kolkata, India, from 2021 to 2023.
