The Colombian Orinoquia is considered one of the eight most important ecosystems in the world. Savannah ecosystems play an essential role in providing ecosystem services. The objectives were (a) to explore and identify the perceptions of traditional farmers and institutional representatives regarding human well-being, animal welfare and the environment, and (b) to identify environmental challenges and opportunities for improvement based on the "One Welfare" concept.

Despite interest in bifidobacteria as a live biotic therapy, our understanding of colonization, host-microbe interactions, and the health-promoting effects of bifidobacteria is limited. To address these major knowledge gaps, we used a large-scale genetic approach to create a mutant fitness compendium in Bifidobacterium breve.

Ligands of tight junctions are interesting agents that enhance epithelial permeability by relaxing the protein complexes that form them. The C-terminal domain of enterotoxin (c-CPE), which binds claudins, one of the tight junction (TJ) components, has been explored here as a functional domain in modular recombinant proteins, to evaluate its ability to self-promote its paracellular epithelial passage in a Caco-2 cell monolayer model.

A noncircular and underexpanded transcatheter aortic valve (TAV) may impact hemodynamic performance. This study aimed to quantify Evolut TAV (Medtronic) frame ellipticity and expansion 30 days post-TAVR and evaluate their impact on 1-year hypoattenuating leaflet thickening and 4-year hemodynamics.
