Background: Cardiogenic shock complicating acute myocardial infarction is associated with a high mortality rate. Cardiogenic shock after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) can be due to transient myocardial stunning but also reflect the increasing severity of ongoing heart failure.
