Physical activity and planetary health: A scoping review.

Objectives: The behaviors and attitudes associated with event attendance and engagement in physical and sporting activities exert a significant impact on planetary health. This scoping review aims to scrutinize existing literature, elucidate concepts, investigate methodologies, and identify knowledge gaps pertaining to physical activity behavior within the context of planetary health.

Design & Methods: A systematic search across PsycINFO (Psychological Information), Web of Science, and Scopus, guided by Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis Guidelines for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) guidelines, yielded 62 relevant studies.

Production of nouns and adjectives of children with cochlear implants and of children with typical hearing.

This analytical cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the production of nouns and adjectives in 62 children between the ages 5 and 7, with 31 children having Cochlear Implants (CIs) and 31 children having Typical Hearing (TH). The study compaired their performance in a picture naming test of nouns and adjectives. Poisson regression models were fitted to compare the responses of both groups of children, and intra-subject differences between responses to the noun and adjective naming tasks were also analyzed.

Linguistic Intervention Strategies Speech-Language Pathologists Use With Children Using Cochlear Implants.

The aim of this study was to explore the strategies that speech-language pathologists (SLPs) use during their linguistic interventions on children with cochlear implants (CIs). The sample comprised 7 SLPs in interactions with 62 children, 31 with CIs and 31 with typical hearing (TH), from 5 to 7 years of age. Two linguistic activities were used: conversation and naming.

Methods for Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback (HRVB): A Systematic Review and Guidelines.

Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback (HRVB) has been widely used to improve cardiovascular health and well-being. HRVB is based on breathing at an individual's resonance frequency, which stimulates respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) and the baroreflex. There is, however, no methodological consensus on how to apply HRVB, while details about the protocol used are often not well reported.
