This retrospective study is the only one in the last 10 years from central Europe and provides a current picture of prevalence, new diagnostic modalities, new methods of surgical treatment, and also offers new insights into post-operative care. Triceps tendon rupture is the least reported among all the tendon injuries in the literature. In general, effective treatments for tendon injuries are lacking because the understanding of tendon biology lags behind that of the other components of the musculoskeletal system.

The present study investigates the impact of supplementing diets with a synergistic blend of short- and medium-chain fatty acids (SCFAs-MCFAs) during the peripartum and lactation phases on early microbial colonization and the subsequent growth performance of newborn pigs. The experiment involved 72 sows and their litters, with a follow-up on 528 weaned pigs. Sows were fed either a control diet or a diet supplemented with SCFAs-MCFAs and the pigs were monitored for their growth performance and microbial populations.

This trial assessed the variability of energy metabolisability in four varieties of barley, rye, and wheat based on changes in energy and nutrient flow estimations in excreta. Twelve diets were created by combining 40% of each cereal variety and 60% of a common mixture, divided into enzyme-supplemented and non-supplemented versions, resulting in 24 experimental diets that included TiO and YbO as indigestible markers. A total of 432 one-day-old broilers were distributed into 72 cages and fed a single diet from day 1 to 15.

In December 2023, 35 third-instar larvae were collected from subcutaneous granulomatous cysts in a free-ranging markhor () hunted in the Dashtijum region of the Khazratishoh mountain range, Tajikistan. The larvae were identified as those of (Diptera: Oestridae: Hypodermatinae). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of an oestrid fly infestation in this host species.

Within ovarian cancer research, patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models recapitulate histologic features and genomic aberrations found in original tumors. However, conflicting data from published studies have demonstrated significant transcriptional differences between PDXs and original tumors, challenging the fidelity of these models. We employed a quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomic approach coupled with generation of patient-specific databases using RNA-seq data to investigate the proteogenomic landscape of serially-passaged PDX models established from two patients with distinct subtypes of ovarian cancer.
