Background: Ongoing education of health professionals in rheumatology (HPR) is critical for high-quality care. An essential factor is education readiness and a high quality of educational offerings. We explored which factors contributed to education readiness and investigated currently offered postgraduate education, including the European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) offerings.

Do Pediatrician Interpersonal and Personality Characteristics Affect Patient Experience?

Background And Objectives: Previous studies have demonstrated associations between patient experience scores and physician's demographic characteristics such as gender and race. There is a paucity of data, however, on the effect of broader pediatrician characteristics on caregivers' experience of their children's care. This study assessed pediatric caregiver experience of care ratings within a children's hospital and examined the effects of pediatricians' interpersonal and personality traits on caregiver experience ratings.

Development and validation of an early warning tool for sepsis and decompensation in children during emergency department triage.

This study was designed to develop and validate an early warning system for sepsis based on a predictive model of critical decompensation. Data from the electronic medical records for 537,837 visits to a pediatric Emergency Department (ED) from March 2013 to December 2019 were collected. A multiclass stochastic gradient boosting model was built to identify early warning signs associated with death, severe sepsis, non-severe sepsis, and bacteremia.

Dutch patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals generate first nationwide research agenda for juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

Background: Involving the end-users of scientific research (patients, carers and clinicians) in setting research priorities is important to formulate research questions that truly make a difference and are in tune with the needs of patients. We therefore aimed to generate a national research agenda for Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) together with patients, their caregivers and healthcare professionals through conducting a nationwide survey among these stakeholders.

Methods: The James Lind Alliance method was used, tailored with additional focus groups held to involve younger patients.
