Resistance to streptomycin in Erwinia amylovora was first observed in the United States in the 1970s but was not found in New York until 2002, when streptomycin-resistant (SmR) E. amylovora was isolated from orchards in Wayne County. From 2011 to 2014, in total, 591 fire blight samples representing shoot blight, blossom blight, and rootstock blight were collected from 80 apple orchards in New York.

An association between chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) and type 1 diabetes has been described in adults, but not previously in children. Two adolescents with both CIDP and type 1 diabetes are reported here. In order to raise the awareness of CIDP among pediatricians, a description of the clinical and laboratory features, treatment, and prognosis of the condition is provided.

A multidimensional analytical method for the rapid determination and identification of proteins has been developed. The method is based on the size-exclusion fractionation of protein-containing samples, subsequent on-line trypsin digestion and desalination, and reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography-electrospray mass spectrometry detection. The present system reduces digestion times to 20 min and the total analysis time to less than 100 min.

The knowledge about incidence, the causal agents more frequent, and the detailed analysis of different variants about the subject are the unique manner to try to establish precautions against.
