Potentially toxic elements (PTEs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) frequently coexist in soils near industrial areas and sometimes in environmental compartments directly linked to feed (forage) and food (milk) production. However, the distribution of these pollutants along the dairy farm production chain is unclear. Here, we analyzed soil, forage, and milk samples from 16 livestock farms in Spain: several PTEs and PAHs were quantified.

Members of the Cryptococcus gattii species complex are notorious causes of cryptococcosis as they often cause severe, life-threatening infections. Here we describe a case of a severe disseminated C. deuterogattii infection in a previously healthy patient who was initially treated with amphotericin B, 5-fluorocytosine and fluconazole, which led to a good neurological response, but the infection in the lungs remained unaltered and was not completely resolved until switching the antifungal therapy to isavuconazole.

Objective: To determine the prevalence of lymph node involvement in patients with endometrial cancer and to explore factors associated with lymph node invasion.
Methods: Prevalence study with exploratory analysis. The study included patients with endometrial cancer who underwent total abdominal hysterectomy plus bilateral salpyingooophorectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy with or without para-aortic lymphadenectomy in seven oncology centers in Colombia between 2009 and 2016.
