Navigating our social environment requires the ability to distinguish ourselves from others. Previous research suggests that training interventions have the potential to enhance the capacity for self-other distinction (SOD), which then may impact various sociocognitive domains, including imitation-inhibition, visual perspective taking, and empathy. Importantly, empirical research on the role of SOD in emotion regulation remains scarce.

GEMIN5 is a multifunctional protein involved in various aspects of RNA biology, including biogenesis of snRNPs and translation control. Reduced levels of GEMIN5 confer a differential translation to selective groups of mRNAs, and biallelic variants reducing protein stability or inducing structural conformational changes are associated with neurological disorders. Here, we show that upregulation of GEMIN5 can be detrimental as it modifies the steady state of mRNAs and enhances alternative splicing (AS) events of genes involved in a broad range of cellular processes.

Chronic hepatitis C virus infection (HCV) causes liver inflammation and fibrosis, leading to the development of severe liver disease, such as cirrhosis or hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Approval of direct-acting antiviral drug combinations has revolutionized chronic HCV therapy, with virus eradication in >98% of the treated patients. The efficacy of these treatments is such that it is formally possible for cured patients to carry formerly infected cells that display irreversible transcriptional alterations directly caused by chronic HCV Infection.

Introduction: Insulin degludec/liraglutide (IDegLira) is a fixed-ratio combination of insulin degludec (a basal insulin) and liraglutide (a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist [GLP-1RA]). This study aimed to investigate clinical outcomes in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) after initiating IDegLira treatment in a real-world setting in Colombia.

Methods: SPIRIT is a non-interventional, single-arm, retrospective chart review study to assess clinical outcomes in people with T2DM.
