Purpose: [C]methionine ([C]Met) was used for cancer imaging based on upregulated amino acid transport and protein synthesis in different tumor types. However, the short half-life of C decay limited further clinical development of [C]Met. Synthetic amino acid analog anti-1-amino-3-[F]fluoro-cyclobutyl-1-carboxylic acid ([F]FCABC) was developed and FDA-approved for PET imaging of recurrent prostate cancer.

3 patients with acute leukaemia, HLA antibodies and thrombocytopenia refractory to random donor platelet transfusions were treated with high-dose i.v. immunoglobulin.

Psychosocial effects of cosmetic augmentation mammaplasty.

In a follow-up study, 19 small-busted women who had received a cosmetic augmentation mammaplasty were contrasted with 20 small-busted control wornen and 19 average-busted control women. The augmented women showed much greater happiness with their breast, an improved body image, and more daring and revealing dress. Basic personality traits, self-concept, and the frequency of various activities were unchanged.
