Acute iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is associated with higher rates of severe chronic symptoms and complications, and in rare cases with acute limb ischemia. Early detection is a key to provide prompt treatment, including endovascular intervention, in selected patients. When iliofemoral DVT is related to external compression of the left iliac vein by the right common iliac artery is termed May-Thurner syndrome.

Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a rare, benign spindle-cell neoplasm initially thought to be of mesothelial origin but later recognized as mesenchymal. While uncommon in the head and neck region, SFTs typically present in the oral cavity, orbit, and paranasal sinuses. The tumor's imaging characteristics, such as those seen in ultrasound and MRI, can often mimic vascular lesions, leading to diagnostic challenges.

Achieving electrical control of ferromagnets without magnetic fields is crucial for the dense integration of nanodevices in modern memory and computing technologies. Here, we realize a dark state in one of the spins of a two-component, resonantly interacting Fermi gas using a Λ system within the D_{2} transitions of ^{6}Li at high magnetic field. The dark state is created in a micrometer-sized region within a one-dimensional channel connecting two superfluid reservoirs.

Deadwood comprises a considerable portion of forest carbon, and it functions as refuge, nesting habitat and nutrient source for plant, animal and microbial communities. We predicted that thermophilic termites would increase wood decomposition with experimental warming and in forest edge habitat.
