Geographic accessibility to hospital childbirths in Brazil (2010-2011 and 2018-2019): a cross-sectional study.

Background: Delays in obstetric care are associated with adverse maternal outcomes, while long-distance travel for delivery is associated with high neonatal mortality and increased maternal morbidity. Distance and travel time are key components of geographic accessibility to health services and important risk indicators for maternal and neonatal care. This study evaluated whether the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) has been geographically accessible in providing hospital childbirth services, over time.

Analysis of lipid profile before and after a simulated Brazilian jiu-jitsu para-sport fight: Multiple case analysis.

Analysis of energy pathways is useful in helping to understand adaptations to specific sports practices, which vary according to the type of effort and individual characteristics of the athletes. In this sense, this study aimed to describe the physiological changes related to lipid markers in amputee athletes who practice para-sport jiu-jitsu. This is an observational study, which included three male amputee athletes, aged between 41 and 46 years old and with more than 24 months of experience at a professional level.

Biopsychosocial Factors Associated with Activities of Daily Living Limitations in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients: Insights from the Brazilian Population.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) can impair activities of daily living (ADL), reducing quality of life. The influence of biopsychosocial factors on ADL limitations among CKD patients remains unclear. This study aims to investigate associations between these factors and ADL limitations among CKD patients in the Brazilian population.

Validation of a three-dimensional model for improving the design of multiple-backscattering ultrasonic sensors.

Ultrasonic sensors based on backscattering principles have been developed for various applications involving arbitrary or random scatterer distributions. Although the theory of multiple scattering of waves is well-established, it has not been thoroughly explored in these applications. This work presents a feasible and simplified three-dimensional scattering model to predict the transient response generated by a set of rods positioned in the near field of a 1 MHz water-coupled ultrasonic transducer.
