Partial differential equation models in macroeconomics.

The purpose of this article is to get mathematicians interested in studying a number of partial differential equations (PDEs) that naturally arise in macroeconomics. These PDEs come from models designed to study some of the most important questions in economics. At the same time, they are highly interesting for mathematicians because their structure is often quite difficult.

Stereotactic vacuum-assisted biopsies on a digital breast 3D-tomosynthesis system.

The purpose of this study was to describe our operating process and to report results of 118 stereotactic vacuum-assisted biopsies performed on a digital breast 3D-tomosynthesis system. From October 2009 to December 2010, 118 stereotactic vacuum assisted biopsies have been performed on a digital breast 3D-tomosynthesis system. Informed consent was obtained for all patients.

Use of health care services for psychological distress by immigrants in an urban multicultural milieu.

Objective: Research in the United States tends to attribute low rates of use of mental health services by immigrants to economic barriers. The purpose of our study was to examine this issue in the context of Canada's universal health care system.

Methods: A survey of the catchment area of a comprehensive clinic in Montreal interviewed random samples of 924 Canadian-born individuals and 776 immigrants born in the Caribbean (n = 264), Vietnam (n = 234), or the Philippines (n = 278) to assess their health care use for somatic symptoms, psychological distress, and recent life events.

[Pelvi-perineal venous insufficiency and varicose veins of the lower limbs: duplex Doppler diagnosis and endoluminal treatment in thirty females].

Pelvic congestion is the most commonly recognized consequence of pelvi-perineal venous insufficiency (PPVI). The implication of PPVI in the generation of varicoceles and varicose veins of the lower limbs arising from perineal varices has not been studied specifically. We report our duplex-Doppler findings in a series of 150 women seen over a period of 36 months.
