Importance: Chronic pain is common among individuals with dialysis-dependent kidney failure.
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of pain coping skills training (PCST), a cognitive behavioral intervention, on pain interference.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This multicenter randomized clinical trial of PCST vs usual care was conducted across 16 academic centers and 103 outpatient dialysis facilities in the US.
Background: Literature on biomarker studies suggests that pathological changes begin approximately 10 to 20 years before the first cognitive symptom appears in dementia populations. It is an emerging era for developing methods to detect the early signs of progressive cognitive decline. Recently, the instrumental activity of living (IADL) capacity has been regarded as a functional biomarker to predict the progression from MCI to dementia.

We aimed to establish disease-specific tau covariance patterns in AD and PSP/CBS and validate them as user-independent quantitative biomarkers for reference-region-free evaluation of tau-PET in an independent clinical cohort.
Method: We analyzed Florzolotau PET data from four different cohorts.
Background: Cholecystectomy is considered the definitive treatment option for cholecystitis, and patients living with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (PLWDs) are at risk for increased mortality, complications, and delirium. However, the effect of different treatment options for cholecystitis among PLWDs has not been elucidated; therefore, this study compares outcomes following cholecystectomy, cholecystostomy tube, and medical management of cholecystitis among this high-risk group.
Method: We conducted a retrospective analysis of Medicare claims data from 1/1/2016-12/31/2020.
Background: Detecting functional performance decline from normal aging to dementia is critical for early detection and intervention. The informant-based A-IADL-Q-SV has been demonstrated with good psychometric properties. The aims of this study were to: (1) translate, culturally adapt, and validate the Traditional Chinese version of the A-IADL-Q-SV-TC for Taiwanese; (2) evaluate the psychometric properties.
