Background: Research about anxiety, depression and psychosis and their treatments is often reported using inconsistent language, and different aspects of the overall research may be conducted in separate silos. This leads to challenges in evidence synthesis and slows down the development of more effective interventions to prevent and treat these conditions. To address these challenges, the Global Alliance for Living Evidence on aNxiety, depressiOn and pSychosis (GALENOS) Project is conducting a series of living systematic reviews about anxiety, depression and psychosis.

Background: Generative artificial intelligence (AI) models that can produce photorealistic images from text descriptions have many applications in medicine, including medical education and the generation of synthetic data. However, it can be challenging to evaluate their heterogeneous outputs and to compare between different models. There is a need for a systematic approach enabling image and model comparisons.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to determine if discussing contraception with healthcare providers influences contraceptive use among transgender men and gender-diverse individuals.
  • In a 2019 survey of 1,694 respondents, about 48% reported currently using contraception, with higher usage observed among those who had conversations about contraceptive options with providers, especially those who initiated the discussion themselves.
  • The findings highlight the importance of encouraging healthcare providers to engage in open dialogues about contraception with transgender and gender-diverse patients to improve their access to necessary services.

Time-domain modeling of the thermal deformation of crystal optics can help define acceptable operational ranges across the pulse-energy repetition-rate phase space. In this paper, we have studied the transient thermal deformation of a water-cooled diamond crystal for a cavity-based X-ray free-electron laser (CBXFEL), either an X-ray free-electron laser oscillator (XFELO) or a regenerative amplifier X-ray free-electron laser (RAFEL), by numerical simulations including finite-element analysis and advanced data processing. Pulse-by-pulse transient thermal deformation of a 50 µm-thick diamond crystal has been performed with X-ray pulse repetition rates between 50 kHz and 1 MHz.

Coronary-pulmonary artery fistulas are rare congenital anomalies that can lead to significant clinical complications, especially when associated with coronary artery disease. We present a case of a 61-year-old male who presented with progressive dyspnea and chest discomfort. Imaging revealed a coronary-pulmonary artery fistula with 60% stenosis in the proximal left anterior descending artery.
