- Graphene is a special material made of carbon atoms and could be useful in medicine, but we need to check how safe it is for living things.
- We compared two ways to make graphene: one method (sonication) gave us more toxic graphene, while the other method (microfluidization) produced safer graphene.
- In tests with blood and zebrafish larvae, we found that sonicated graphene was much more harmful than microfluidized graphene, which was less toxic and caused fewer changes in immune cell behavior.
Vaccination against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) results in transient antibody response against the spike protein. The individual immune status at the time of vaccination influences the response. Using mathematical models of antibody decay, we determined the dynamics of serum immunoglobulin G (IgG) and serum immunoglobulin A (IgA) over time.

Patients And Methods: A prospective, multi-institutional study recruiting consenting patients undergoing ureteroscopy was designed with ethical approval. Prior to ureteroscopy, the urinary bladder was emptied and the COMET™ II pressure guidewire (Boston Scientific) was advanced retrogradely via the ureteric orifice to the renal pelvis.
In 2021, there were about 17,000 victims of human trafficking in the United States. We present a case of a 28-year-old sex trafficking victim who was forced to swallow 2 global positioning system trackers by her perpetrator. The gastroenterology team performed an upper endoscopy and retrieved 2 global positioning system devices from her antrum.
