Purpose: Infantile myofibromatosis is characterized by the development of myofibroblastic tumors in young children. In most cases, the disease is caused by somatic gain-of-function variants in platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) receptor beta (PDGFRB). Here, we reported a novel germline intronic PDGFRB variant, c.

The gut microbiota makes critical contributions to host homeostasis, and its role in the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has attracted attention. We investigated whether the gut microbiome is affected by AML, and whether such changes are associated with hallmarks of cachexia. Biological samples and clinical data were collected from 30 antibiotic- free AML patients at diagnosis and matched volunteers (1:1) in a multicenter, cross-sectional, prospective study.

Myxoid glioneuronal tumors (MGNT) are low-grade glioneuronal neoplasms composed of oligodendrocyte-like cells in a mucin-rich stroma. These tumors feature a unique dinucleotide change at codon 385 in the platelet-derived growth factor receptor α (encoded by the PDGFRA gene), resulting in the substitution of lysine 385 into leucine or isoleucine. The functional consequences of these mutations remain largely unexplored.

Purpose: To investigate the genetic cause, clinical characteristics, and potential therapeutic targets of infantile corneal myofibromatosis.

Design: Case series with genetic and functional analyses.

Participants: Four individuals from 2 unrelated families with clinical signs of corneal myofibromatosis were investigated.
