Optical frequency combs have enabled unique advantages in broadband, high-resolution spectroscopy and precision interferometry. However, quantum mechanics ultimately limits the metrological precision achievable with laser frequency combs. Quantum squeezing has led to significant measurement improvements with continuous wave lasers, but experiments demonstrating metrological advantage with squeezed combs are less developed.

The incorporation of comprehensive nutrition education into medical education and training is essential for equipping physicians with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance patient health and outcomes. However, a deficiency in nutrition education persists in medical education, rendering physicians ill-prepared to address the vital role of nutrition in health and disease. This article summarizes the key themes and recommendations generated during the Summit on Medical Education in Nutrition, hosted in March 2023 by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education in collaboration with American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine and Association of American Medical Colleges.

Cumulative Detection of Anal High-Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesions Over 2-Year Follow-up in Men Who Have Sex With Men Living With Human Immunodeficiency Virus in France.

We assessed cumulative detection and determinants of anal high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSILs) in men who have sex with men living with human immunodeficiency virus and who underwent 3 visits over 2 years, with cytology and high-resolution anoscopy, within the ANRS-EP57-APACHES study. The cumulative HSIL detection rate was 33% (134 of 410), of which 48% HSILs were detected at baseline. HSIL detection varied considerably by center (from 13% to 51%).

Epstein-Barr Virus DNA Is Associated With Conjunctival Squamous Cell Carcinomas: A Case-Control Study From Zimbabwe.

Incidence of conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) in Zimbabwe is >30-fold higher than the global average. cSCC risk is notably higher among people with human immunodeficiency virus, implicating impaired immune response and a yet unknown infectious etiology. Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded blocks from Zimbabwe, comprising conjunctival precancer (n = 78), invasive cSCC cases (n = 148) and nonmalignant eye lesions (n = 119), were tested for multiple DNA viruses using Luminex bead-based technology.
