Nurses' Perceptions of Practice Supports Related to Medical Assistance in Dying.

Since the inception of medical assistance in dying (MAiD) in Canada in 2016, the health care system continues to refine MAiD delivery models. The frameworks informing nursing practice related to MAiD are subject to variability across the country, leading to nursing role ambiguity and barriers in relational practice. Using critical incident technique, this qualitative research study explores the experiences of 7 Canadian nurses engaging with patients seeking MAiD.

Comparing Patient Communication Event Demand for External Ring Fixators to Other Common Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic Procedures: A Retrospective Study.

Background: Surgeons may hesitate to apply external ring fixators (ERFs) due to perceived high clinical burden. This study aims to quantify the relative demand of ERFs compared with other common foot and ankle procedures. Understanding the demand of ERFs can provide insights into postoperative experiences, potentially decreasing intimidation of their use.

The Implementation of Integrated Youth Services in Canada: Planning and Costing of a Pan-Canadian Model: La mise en œuvre des services intégrés pour les jeunes au Canada : planification et établissement des coûts d'un modèle pancanadien.

Objective: The implementation of Integrated Youth Services (IYS) can help ensure that youth are adequately supported. The objective of this analysis was to provide a model for the planning and costing of IYS throughout Canada over a 15-year period.

Methods: To estimate resource allocation for IYS, we determined the number of hubs and hub staffing requirements by service level and jurisdiction, backbone support and infrastructure requirements by jurisdiction.

Broad-Spectrum Micronutrients or Antidepressants for Antenatal Depression: Effect on Maternal and Infant Birth Outcomes in an Observational Secondary Analysis of NUTRIMUM.

Purpose/background: One-fifth of women experience antenatal depression. Untreated antenatal depression is associated with increased risk of adverse birth outcomes. This study investigated the effect of broad-spectrum micronutrients (BSM; vitamins and minerals), used to treat antenatal depression (NUTRIMUM trial), on birth outcomes.
