[The occurence of a plague epidemic at Sidi Abdallah-Ferryville in 1944-1945].

Account of a plague epidemic in the tunisian maritime area of Bizerte - Ferryville - Sidi Abdallah, between August 1944 and March 1945, the strategic period of the landing forces in the South of France. 37 patients were treated at the Maritime Hospital of Sidi Abdallah. 27 died.

[Severe hypophosphoremia in a toxic shock syndrome].

A case of toxic shock syndrome occurring during a menstrual period, and associated with severe hypophosphataemia, is reported. The patient was a 21-year old woman using tampons. On the fourth day, she developed encephalopathy with decreased consciousness and hyperventilation.

[Public health impact of adsorption of enteroviruses on ocean and river sediments].

Fixation of enteroviruses in sands, ocean sediments, and river mud constitutes a very real public health risk. The authors review the physicochemical and biological mechanisms of virus attachment to particles. Rates of adherence frequently reach 90 to 100%, especially in montmorillonites and sands.
