Objectives: To understand the competitive position of the UK in comparison to Europe and the USA for haematological cancer clinical research.

Design: Using commercially available databases, clinical trial numbers, their effectiveness and publication outputs were evaluated in two analyses: a macrodevelopment and a research activity and performance analysis.

Data Sources: The following databases were used for this analysis: Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, Thomson Reuters Incidence and Prevalence, the Cortellis Clinical Trial Intelligence, the Clarivate Cortellis Innography Patent Intelligence, Thomson-Reuters Cortellis Regulatory Intelligence, Thomson Reuters Web of Science and data from the Centre for Medicine Research (CMR).

Polymer-based solid microstructures (MSts) have the potential to significantly increase the quantity and range of drugs that can be administered across the skin. MSt arrays are used to demonstrate their capacity to bypass the skin barrier and enhance permeability by creating microchannels through the , in a minimally invasive manner. This study is designed to demonstrate the ability of MSts to exceed the current boundaries for transdermal delivery of compounds with different molecular weights, partition coefficients, acid dissociation constants, melting points, and water solubilities.

Purpose: The majority of people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) will develop chronic kidney disease in their lifetime. Because most dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP)-4 inhibitors require dose adjustment in patients with T2DM and renal impairment, we aimed to understand how these treatments are prescribed in UK clinical practice, and to determine whether recommended dose adjustments are being made at initial prescription.

Methods: This retrospective, descriptive cohort study analyzed data from the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD).
