Complete resection of scattered superficial lesions can be paradoxically more complex. If the endometriosis is ovarian, priority should be given to preserving the oocyte capital, and ovarian function should be assessed in patients of childbearing age who wish to become pregnant, prior to treatment by alcoholization of the cyst, abrasion of its contents by laser or plasma energy, or even cystectomy. Laparoscopic resection is recommended in cases of deep endometriosis.

Breast cancer incidence and time trend in France from 1990 to 2007: a population-based study from two French cancer registries.

Background: The hypothesis of a link between breast cancer and hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is evoked to explain the recent decrease of incidence observed in several countries. The purpose of our study is to analyse the evolution of breast cancer incidence by stage.

Materials And Methods: We used data from Tarn and Isère French cancer registries for the period 1990-2007.

Background/aims: In France, two recent studies enabled modeling of the impact of viral eradication on HCV mortality.

Methods: The French HCV population was simulated from infection to death using a computer-based model. We took into account the impact of alcohol, present screening and antiviral therapy to predict 2006--2025 HCV mortality and to assess the impact of viral eradication.

Comparison of two techniques of transarterial chemoembolization before liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma: a case-control study.

Supraselective transarterial chemoembolization (STACE) more efficiently targets chemotherapy delivered via the feeding arterial branches of the tumor than does conventional transarterial chemoembolization (TACE). However, the hypothesis of its greater efficacy compared with the latter is subject to controversy. The aim of the present study was to compare STACE to conventional TACE in a controlled study of candidates for liver transplantation (LT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
