Development and validation of a training course on proton pump inhibitor deprescription for general practitioners in a rural continuing medical education program: a pilot study.

Background: Despite being cornerstone medications for managing gastrointestinal disorders, proton pump inhibitors (PPI) have raised concerns due to inappropriate prescribing and overutilization, their potential side effects, and interactions with other medications. General practitioners (GPs) provide long-term patient follow-up and are targets to promote PPI deprescribing to reach the widest possible population. GPs practicing in rural settings encounter unique challenges as their numbers dwindle and their workload increases.

Real-Life Testing of the Prescription Opioid Misuse Index in French Primary Care.

Analgesic opioid (AO) misuse by patients ranges from 0% to 50%. General practitioners are the first prescribers of AO. Our objective was to validate the Prescription Opioid Misuse Index (POMI) in primary care.

Background: In France, consumption of antidepressant drugs by children and teenagers has been on the rise, even though recommendations for use are limited due to their association with serious adverse reactions. The objective of this study was to describe the patterns of antidepressant drug dispensing among children and adolescents in the French region of Midi-Pyrenees.

Method: The data regarding the Midi-Pyrenees region were extracted from the French Health Insurance Database (SNDS) using their ATC codes.

[Management of child and adolescent depression in primary care: A systematic meta-review].

Objective: To develop a practical guide for the management of child and adolescent depression for general practitioners (GPs), suited to their practice frame, that can be implemented on a website aimed to help GPs to manage the main mental disorders encountered in primary care.

Method: A systematic meta-review was performed as recommended by the PRISMA statement. Each step, articles' selection, inclusion, methodological assessment and data extraction for the narrative synthesis was independently performed by two researchers.
