We prove that all Galerkin truncations of the 2d stochastic Navier-Stokes equations in vorticity form on any rectangular torus subjected to hypoelliptic, additive stochastic forcing are chaotic at sufficiently small viscosity, provided the frequency truncation satisfies . By "chaotic" we mean having a strictly positive Lyapunov exponent, i.e.

This study evaluated the association of race and ethnicity with allograft outcomes in a French population of 952 Caucasian (Cauc) patients and 140 African European (AE) patients who underwent renal transplantation in our center between 1987 and 2003. Demographic characteristics were similar for the two cohorts other than cause of end-stage renal failure (more hypertension among AE and more polycystic kidney disease among Cauc) and cold ischemia time (significantly longer for AE).

We conducted a retrospective, case-controlled study to compare the function, survival and pathology of renal allografts after SPK and kidney-alone (KA) transplantations.
Methods: We studied 26 consecutive SPK patients and 67 KA controls matched for time of transplantation.
Background: The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy and safety of induction treatment with antithymocyte globulins (ATG) followed by tacrolimus therapy with immediate tacrolimus therapy in renal transplant recipients.
Methods: This 12-month, open, prospective study was conducted in 15 centers in France and 1 center in Belgium; 309 patients were randomized to receive either induction therapy with ATG (n=151) followed by initiation of tacrolimus on day 9 or immediate tacrolimus-based triple therapy (n=158). In both study arms, the initial daily tacrolimus dose was 0.
Objective: The authors report their preliminary experience of a manually assisted laparoscopic bilateral nephrectomy technique for refractory hypertension in renal transplant recipients.
Material And Methods: Between April and May 1999, 2 laparoscopic bilateral nephrectomies were performed with manual assistance using the Hand-Port. One patient was operated 4 months before renal transplantation and the other was operated 13 months after renal transplantation.
