The present study aimed to evaluate a blend of yeast and saccharides based-product fed via diet to feedlot cattle on performance, health, meat quality, and rumen metabolism when compared to monensin. Twenty-four non-castrated crossbred male steers (Charolais x Nellore) were divided into control (n = 12), receiving the basal diet with monensin (215 mg/animal/day) and treatment (n = 12) receiving the basal diet with the blend of yeast and saccharides based-product (17.2 g/animal/day).

Sickle cell anemia (SCA) presents a complex interplay of factors, with the production of high levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the chronic inflammatory process leading to chronic oxidative stress. In this context, efficient action of antioxidant systems becomes crucial, with particular emphasis on peroxiredoxins (PRDXs) due to their abundance and vital roles. Our primary objective was to establish associations between gene and protein expression of PRDXs 1, 2, and 6, as well as their reducers TRX1, TRXR1, and SRX1, with the characteristic hyperoxidative status observed in SCA patients.

This study aims to analyze the correlation between healthcare professionals' knowledge of hand hygiene protocols and their actual adherence to these practices. Specifically, we investigate whether higher knowledge levels correspond to better compliance, and we examine potential influencing factors such as professional role, gender, and prior training in infection control. A non-probabilistic, convenience sample was composed of 51 healthcare professionals working in patient care.
