Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) can be diagnosed prenatally and its severity assessed by fetal imaging. The prognosis of a fetus with CDH is based on whether or not the hernia is isolated, the measurement of lung volume on ultrasound and MRI, and the position of the liver. The birth of a child with CDH should take place in a center adapted to the care of such children, and in accordance with the recommendations defined by the French National Diagnosis and Care Protocol.

Midgut malrotation has a noticeable frequency among congenital anomalies and presents mostly as vomiting. We report a case of a five-year-old boy with recurrent attacks of bilious vomiting and mild epigastric colicky abdominal pain for a year. Midgut malrotation with Ladd's band and superior mesenteric vein (SMV) dilatation causing partial intestinal obstruction were diagnosed based on the clinical presentation, upper gastrointestinal (GI) barium follow-through study, computed tomography (CT) scan with and without IV contrast, and intraoperative findings.

Leiomyomas, the most common benign neoplasms of the female reproductive tract, currently have limited medical treatment options. Drugs targeting estrogen/progesterone signaling are used, but side effects and limited efficacy in many cases are major limitation of their clinical use. Previous studies from our laboratory and others demonstrated that 2-methoxyestradiol (2-ME) is promising treatment for uterine fibroids.

Background: Increases in IL-6 by cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) contribute to colon cancer progression, but the mechanisms involved in the increase of this tumor-promoting cytokine are unknown. The aim of this study was to identify novel targets involved in the dysregulation of IL-6 expression by CAFs in colon cancer.

Methods: Colonic normal (N), hyperplastic, tubular adenoma, adenocarcinoma tissues, and tissue-derived myo-/fibroblasts (MFs) were used in these studies.
