Background: Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) are increasingly utilized in orthopaedic research and assess the patient's response to care, allow for assessment of the patient's overall health, and provide tools to promote the shared decision-making process. Our hypothesis is that risk factors for non-compliance is increasing age and increasing time after surgery.
Methods: PROMs compliance was conducted from survey data of 90 individuals from May 2017 to July 2023 who had Achilles tendon surgery.
Background: Philadelphia's opioid overdose crisis has reached unprecedented levels. However, overdose deaths involving non-opioids have also increased in recent years. As overdose deaths continue to increase, this study describes and compares the demographic characteristics, prescription drug histories, and exposure to potentially inappropriate prescribing practices (PIPPs), in the year before death of three groups of overdose decedents: (1) only opioid(s) detected in postmortem toxicology, (2) only non-opioid(s) detected, (3) both opioids and non-opioids co-detected [i.

Here we assess the utility of baleen-an accreting, keratinaceous tissue that baleen whales use for filter-feeding-to track PFAS dynamics in marine food webs. In six species investigated, PFAS were detected in all baleen tested (n = 18 plates, 220 samples, ΣPFAS range 0.

A better understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying enthesis development and healing is needed for developing treatments. We recently identified hedgehog (Hh)-lineage cells critical for enthesis development and repair.
