European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) 2025 Clinical Practice Guidelines on the Management of Vascular Trauma.

Objective: The European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) has developed clinical practice guidelines for the care of patients with vascular trauma with the aim of assisting physicians in selecting the optimal management strategy.

Methods: The guidelines are based on scientific evidence completed with expert opinion. By summarising and evaluating the best available evidence, recommendations for the evaluation and treatment of patients have been formulated.

Modern Open Surgery for Coral Reef Aorta with Visceral Artery Involvement.

Objective: Coral reef atherosclerosis of the visceral aorta (CRA) is associated with renovascular hypertension (RVH), chronic mesenteric ischaemia (CMI), and malperfusion of the lower limbs. The outcomes of open surgery for this rare disease are described in this paper.

Methods: This retrospective study included all patients who underwent open surgical repair of CRA at a single high volume referral centre between January 2009 and June 2023.

Guidelines at a crossroad: comparing European and American guidelines regarding the use of imaging in peripheral vascular arterial disease and aortic disease.

This review examines the differences and similarities between the European and American guidelines concerning the use of imaging in the diagnosis and management of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and aortic disease. PAD and aortic conditions contribute significantly to global cardiovascular morbidity and mortality; yet, they are often underdiagnosed and undertreated. Imaging plays a critical role in addressing this gap, with the European Society of Cardiology and American Cardiac Society offering different approaches to diagnostic and interventional imaging modalities.

Impact of Frailty and Sarcopenia on Thirty-Day and Long-Term Mortality in Patients Undergoing Elective Endovascular Aortic Aneurysm Repair: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

The aim of this study was to assess the prognostic role of frailty and sarcopenia on the survival of patients with AAA undergoing elective endovascular repair (EVAR). A systematic review of the literature was conducted in accordance with Meta-analysis of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (MOOSE). The association of frailty or sarcopenia with 30-day mortality and late survival was expressed as odds ratios (ORs) or hazard ratios (HRs) with a 95% confidence interval (CI).
