Many materials have been explored for the purpose of creating structures with high radiative cooling potential, such as nanocellulose-based structures and nanoparticle-based coatings, which have been reported with environmentally friendly attributes and high solar reflectance in current literature. They each have their own advantages and disadvantages in practice. It is worth noting that nanocellulose-based structures have an absorption peak in the UV wavelengths, which results in a lower total solar reflectance and, consequently, reduce radiative cooling capabilities.

Objective: Lower socioeconomic status (SES) is a risk factor for poorer pain-related outcomes. Further, the neighborhood environments of disadvantaged communities can create a milieu of increased stress and deprivation that adversely affects pain-related and other health outcomes. Socioenvironmental variables such as the Area Deprivation Index, which ranks neighborhoods based on socioeconomic factors could be used to capture environmental aspects associated with poor pain outcomes.

The developing mammalian heart undergoes an important metabolic shift from glycolysis towards mitochondrial oxidation that is critical to support the increasing energetic demands of the maturing heart. Here, we describe a new mechanistic link between mitochondria and cardiac morphogenesis, uncovered by studying mitochondrial citrate carrier (SLC25A1) knockout mice. Slc25a1 null embryos displayed impaired growth, mitochondrial dysfunction and cardiac malformations that recapitulate the congenital heart defects observed in 22q11.

Background: Radiomics traditionally focuses on analyzing a single lesion within a patient to extract tumor characteristics, yet this process may overlook inter-lesion heterogeneity, particularly in the multi-metastatic setting. There is currently no established method for combining radiomic features in such settings, leading to diverse approaches with varying strengths and limitations. Our quantitative review aims to illuminate these methodologies, assess their replicability, and guide future research toward establishing best practices, offering insights into the challenges of multi-lesion radiomic analysis across diverse datasets.

This study examined how race/ethnicity, sex/gender, and sexual orientation intersect under interlocking systems of oppression to socially pattern depression among US adults. With cross-sectional data from the 2015-2020 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (n = 234 722), we conducted a design-weighted, multilevel analysis of individual heterogeneity and discriminatory accuracy (MAIHDA) under an intersectional framework to predict past-year and lifetime major depressive episodes (MDEs). With 42 intersectional groups constructed from 7 race/ethnicity, 2 sex/gender, and 3 sexual orientation categories, we estimated age-standardized prevalence and excess or reduced prevalence attributable to 2-way or higher interaction effects.
