Plasma and salivary hormone responses to a 30-min exercise stress test in young, healthy, physically active females.

Overreaching, a consequence of intensified training, is used by athletes to enhance performance. A blunted hormonal response to a 30-min interval exercise stress test (55/80) has been shown in males after intensified training, highlighting cortisol and testosterone as potential biomarkers of overreaching. Despite accounting for ~50% of the population, studies into hormonal responses to exercise in females are lacking.

Interaction of milrinone with extracorporeal life support.

Background: Milrinone is commonly prescribed to critically ill patients who need extracorporeal life support such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). Currently, the effect of ECMO and CRRT on the disposition of milrinone is unknown.

Methods: Ex vivo ECMO and CRRT circuits were primed with human blood and then dosed with milrinone to study drug extraction by the circuits.

Superselective Versus Selective Neck Dissection in the Treatment of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma.

Background: Superselective lateral neck dissection (SSND), defined as dissection of 2 or less contiguous lateral cervical nodal levels, has emerged as a treatment option for metastatic papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), in place of a selective neck dissection (SND). There are few studies exploring outcomes of SSND compared to SND in this context.

Materials And Methods: This was a single institution retrospective study.

Administrator Turnover: The Roles of District Support, Safety, Anxiety, and Violence from Students.

Researchers have examined the importance of school administrative support for teacher safety, victimization, anxiety, and retention; however, studies to date have rarely focused on school administrators' perceptions of support by their district leaders, and its relation to administrators' anxiety/stress, safety, and their intentions to transfer or quit their jobs. In the current study of 457 PreK-12th grade school administrators in the United States, structural equation modeling was used to examine relations between administrators' perceptions of support from their district leaders and their anxiety/stress, safety, and intentions to transfer or quit their jobs. Administrator experiences of violence by student offenders served as a moderator.
