The analysis of circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) through minimally invasive liquid biopsies is promising for early multi-cancer detection and monitoring minimal residual disease. Most existing methods focus on targeted deep sequencing, but few integrate multiple data modalities. Here, we develop a methodology for ctDNA detection using deep (80x) whole-genome TET-Assisted Pyridine Borane Sequencing (TAPS), a less destructive approach than bisulphite sequencing, which permits the simultaneous analysis of genomic and methylomic data.

Characterisation of the HollandPTC R&D proton beamline for physics and radiobiology studies.

HollandPTC is an independent outpatient center for proton therapy, scientific research, and education. Patients with different types of cancer are treated with Intensity Modulated Proton Therapy (IMPT). Pharmacological reduction of lipid hydroperoxides as a potential modulator of sarcopenia.

We previously reported that elevated expression of phospholipid hydroperoxide glutathione peroxidase 4, an enzyme that regulates membrane lipid hydroperoxides, can mitigate sarcopenia in mice. However, it is still unknown whether a pharmacological intervention designed to modulate lipid hydroperoxides might be an effective strategy to reduce sarcopenia in aged mice.
