Objective: To quantify the occurrence rate of abnormal electrocardiographic (ECG) findings and symptoms following coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection.

Patients And Methods: In this retrospective analysis, we studied adult patients (>18 years old) who were participating in collegiate athletics and previously tested positive for COVID-19 between August 1, 2020, and December 30, 2020. The athletes underwent general examinations and ECG screening prior to being medically cleared for a return to sports following their COVID-19 diagnosis.

VHI-10 Scores in a Treatment-Seeking Population With Dysphonia.

Introduction: The VHI-10 is a patient-reported outcome measure used to record the patient's perception of impairment or handicap due to a voice problem. Scores above 11 are abnormal and indicate voice handicap. Amongst a treatment-seeking population in a large tertiary voice center, scores below the VHI-10 cutoff score of 11 were frequently noted.

Descending necrotizing mediastinitis: a conservative approach.

Descending necrotizing mediastinitis (DNM) is a now-rare complication of dental and pharyngeal infections. Reports in the literature have emphasized the need for early, aggressive surgical intervention. We present a case of DNM with bilateral empyemas that arose secondary to a perforated pharyngeal abscess.

Background: Limited health literacy is common and associated with adverse health care outcomes. Although pharmacies and pharmacists are accessible to most patients, research has indicated that they do not routinely report efforts to target interventions for patients with suboptimal health literacy. Moreover, little is known about the use and expectation of literacy-based communication techniques in pharmacies from the patient perspective.
