In-silico trial of intracranial flow diverters replicates and expands insights from conventional clinical trials.

The cost of clinical trials is ever-increasing. In-silico trials rely on virtual populations and interventions simulated using patient-specific models and may offer a solution to lower these costs. We present the flow diverter performance assessment (FD-PASS) in-silico trial, which models the treatment of intracranial aneurysms in 164 virtual patients with 82 distinct anatomies with a flow-diverting stent, using computational fluid dynamics to quantify post-treatment flow reduction.

Renal arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, with an incidence of approximately 0.04%. Diagnosis is often challenging due to mimics of AVMs.

The Transposed Femoral Vein Fistula: The Native Choice in Desperate Vascular Access.

Background: This is a review of our experience in creating transposed femoral vein (TFV) fistulas and some of the lessons we have learnt while performing this challenging procedure over the last 5 years.

Methods: This is retrospective review of patients who underwent TFV fistula formation between January 2013 and December 2017.

Results: Fifteen patients underwent FV fistula formation with 4 cases being excluded from analysis.
