Oral and Maxillofacial Manifestations of Kallmann Syndrome: A Systematic Analysis of the Literature.

Aims: Kallmann syndrome (KS) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and varied clinical features. Despite its recognition, the oral and maxillofacial manifestations remain poorly understood. This study synthesized clinical aspects and management of KS-related oral and maxillofacial alterations.

Transgenderism in studies on the health of older adults: a systematic review.

Objective: To describe how transgenderism is studied in research on the health of older adults.

Methods: This was a systematic literature review, with searches conducted in September 2022 across the LILACS, MEDLINE/ PubMed, Embase, Web of Science and Scopus databases. The articles were selected independently by two reviewers.

Short Sleep Duration and Skipping Main Meals among University Students.

 Admission to university influences lifestyle behaviors and is marked by a daily routine of accumulation of activities that can interfere with sleep duration, affecting food choices and meal consumption habits throughout the day.  To analyze the association between short sleep duration and skipping main meals among university students.  We conducted a cross-sectional study with 1,608 university students aged between 16 and 25 years, who were enrolled in full-time undergraduate courses at a public university in the Midwestern region of Brazil.

Mast cells and factor XIIIa+ dendrocytes in actinic cheilitis and lip squamous cell carcinoma.

There is an interaction between dendrocytes and mast cells in the skin. However, in elastosis-related diseases such as actinic cheilitis (AC) and lower lip squamous cell carcinoma (LLSCC), this interaction remains unknown. We investigated the presence of intact and degranulated mast cells in AC and LLSCC.

Percutaneous Surgery for Tailor's Bunion: A Comparative Study.

 To analyze and compare the clinical and radiographic outcomes of bunionette correction using two percutaneous surgical techniques: the Sponsel technique and the medial wedge osteotomy of the distal metaphysis. The results were evaluated individually and comparatively using the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society's Lesser Metatarsophalangeal-Interphalangeal Scale (AOFAS), Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for pain assessment, and radiographic measurements of the intermetatarsal angle IV-V (AIM4-5) and metatarsophalangeal angle of the fifth ray (AMF-5).  This was a retrospective study conducted from May 2011 to February 2022.
