Early Surgical Management of Bronchial Dehiscence After Single-Lung Transplantation: A Case Report.

Anastomotic airway complications after lung transplantation affect up to 20% of patients. Bronchial stenosis is the most frequent complication, while dehiscence of bronchial anastomosis is a rarely seen complication, with report incidences between 1% and 10%. Despite its low incidence, dehiscence of bronchial anastomoses remains a disastrous complication in the posttransplantation period without a well-established management protocol.

Chest wall reconstruction with methacrylate prosthesis in Poland syndrome.

Poland syndrome is a rare congenital malformation. This syndrome was described in 1841 by Alfred Poland at Guy's Hospital in London. It is characterized by hypoplasia of the breast and nipple, subcutaneous tissue shortages, lack of the costosternal portion of the pectoralis major muscle and associated alterations of the fingers on the same side.

[A lung transplant in a woman with bronchiolitis obliterans following an allogenic bone marrow transplant].

Graft-versus-host disease is a major complication for bone marrow transplant recipients and is often a cause of late mortality. It can affect any tissue, and involvement of the lungs--target organs of particular importance--can lead to chronic respiratory failure due to bronchiolitis obliterans. We report the case of a lung transplant in a woman who developed bronchiolitis obliterans after receiving a marrow transplant to treat bone marrow aplasia.

Surgical treatment of pulmonary metastases: experience with 40 patients.

Aims: Combinations of surgery and chemotherapy have a favourable impact on survival in the treatment of disseminated neoplastic disease isolated to the lung. Sample and technical factors have made the reproduction of the published results difficult.
