Two compounds were discovered in the well-studied BaO-YO-SiO phase field. Two different experimental routines were used for the exploration of this system due to the differences of synthetic conditions and competition with a glass field. The first phase BaY[SiO]O was isolated through a combination of energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy analysis and diffraction techniques which guided the exploration.

Traumatic Brain Injury and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Are Associated with Physical Health Burden among Post-9/11 Women Veterans.

Little research focuses on physical health outcomes of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among post-9/11 women veterans (WVs). This study examined lifetime TBI, current PTSD, and their associations with biomarkers of cardiometabolic health, sleep, pain, and functional disability among post-9/11 WVs. WVs ( = 90) from the Translational Research Center for TBI and Stress Disorders longitudinal cohort study were included in this study.

Cause or effect? Undetectable vitamin D in a patient with Crohn's disease.

Crohn's disease has been described as the "great mimicker" with a wide array of presentations. We describe a case of a teenager who presented with tetany and undetectable vitamin D as initial presentation of Crohn's disease. There are reports of adults in tetany due to electrolyte derangements in chronic gastrointestinal diseases secondary to malabsorption.

Potato tuber shape, size, and specific gravity are important agronomic traits in the russet market class of potatoes with an impact on quality, consistency, and product recovery of processed foods such as French fries. Therefore, identifying genetic regions associated with the three traits through quantitative trait locus/loci (QTL) analysis is a crucial process in the subsequent development of marker-assisted selection for use in potato breeding programs. QTL analysis was conducted on a tetraploid mapping population consisting of 190 individuals derived from the cross between two russet-skinned parents, Palisade Russet and the breeding clone ND028673B-2Russ.
