An efficient multiscale method for subwavelength transient analysis of acoustic metamaterials.

A reduced-order homogenization framework is proposed, providing a macro-scale-enriched continuum model for locally resonant acoustic metamaterials operating in the subwavelength regime, for both time and frequency domain analyses. The homogenized continuum has a non-standard constitutive model, capturing a metamaterial behaviour such as negative effective bulk modulus, negative effective density and Willis coupling. A suitable reduced space is constructed based on the unit cell response in a steady-state regime and the local resonance regime.

Nanobody-liposomes as novel cancer vaccine platform to efficiently stimulate T cell immunity.

Cancer vaccines can be utilized in combination with checkpoint inhibitors to optimally stimulate the anti-tumor immune response. Uptake of vaccine antigen by antigen presenting cells (APCs) is a prerequisite for T cell priming, but often relies on non-specific mechanisms. Here, we have developed a novel vaccination strategy consisting of cancer antigen-containing liposomes conjugated with CD169- or DC-SIGN-specific nanobodies (single domain antibodies) to achieve specific uptake by APCs.

Tacrolimus Variability and Clinical Outcomes in the Early Post-lung Transplantation Period: Oral Versus Continuous Intravenous Administration.

Background And Objective: High variability in tacrolimus pharmacokinetics directly after lung transplantation (LuTx) may increase the risk for acute kidney injury (AKI) and transplant rejection. The primary objective was to compare pharmacokinetic variability in patients receiving tacrolimus orally versus intravenously early after LuTx.

Methods: Pharmacokinetic and clinical data from 522 LuTx patients transplanted between 2010 and 2020 in two university hospitals were collected to compare orally administered tacrolimus to intravenous tacrolimus early post-transplantation.
