Background: The detection rate of oncogenic human papillomaviruses (HPVs) in sinonasal squamous cell carcinomas (SNSCCs) varies among studies. The mutational landscape of SNSCCs remains poorly investigated.

Methods: We investigated the prevalence and prognostic significance of HPV infections based on p16 protein expression, HPV-DNA detection, and E6/E7 mRNA expression using immunohistochemistry, polymerase chain reaction, and in situ hybridization, respectively.

Safety of Cerebral Intra-Arterial Chemotherapy for the Treatment of Malignant Brain Tumours.

: Cerebral intra-arterial chemotherapy (CIAC) has been demonstrated to achieve tumoricidal concentrations in cerebral tumour cells that are otherwise unachievable due to the presence of the blood-brain barrier. In this study, we sought to analyze the safety of CIAC in a cohort of patients treated at the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux de l'Estrie-Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke (CIUSSS-CHUS). : Treatments consisted of monthly CIAC.

Bariatric surgery is effective for the treatment and remission of obesity and type 2 diabetes, but pharmacological approaches which exert similar metabolic adaptations are needed to avoid post-surgical complications. Here we show how G49, an oxyntomodulin (OXM) analog and dual glucagon/glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GCGR/GLP-1R) agonist, triggers an inter-organ crosstalk between adipose tissue, pancreas, and liver which is initiated by a rapid release of free fatty acids (FFAs) by white adipose tissue (WAT) in a GCGR-dependent manner. This interactome leads to elevations in adiponectin and fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21), causing WAT beiging, brown adipose tissue (BAT) activation, increased energy expenditure (EE) and weight loss.

Dysbiosis in Human Urinary Microbiota May Differentiate Patients with a Bladder Cancer.

Recent interest in noninvasive diagnostic approaches has highlighted the potential of urinary microbiota as a novel biomarker for bladder cancer. This study investigated the urinary microbiota of 30 bladder cancer patients and 32 healthy controls using a specific NGS protocol that sequences eight hypervariable regions of the 16S rRNA gene, providing detailed insights into urinary microbiota composition. The relative abundance of microbial compositions in urine samples from cancer patients and healthy controls was analyzed across various taxonomic levels.
