Prostate cancer morbidity and mortality demonstrate a need for more effective targeted therapies. One potential target is EphA2, although paradoxically, pro- and anti-oncogenic effects have been shown to be mediated by EphA2. We demonstrate that unique activating and blocking EphA2-targeting monoclonal antibodies display opposing tumor-suppressive and oncogenic properties in vivo.

Background: Endothelial cell TRPV4 (transient receptor potential vanilloid 4) channels provide a control point that is pivotal in regulating blood vessel diameter by mediating the Ca-dependent release of endothelial-derived vasoactive factors. In hypertension, TRPV4-mediated control of vascular function is disrupted, but the underlying mechanisms and precise physiological consequences remain controversial.

Methods: Here, using a comprehensive array of methodologies, endothelial TRPV4 channel function was examined in intact mesenteric resistance arteries from normotensive Wistar-Kyoto and spontaneously hypertensive rats.

Background: In 2020, the Ministry of Health (MoH) in Ontario, Canada, introduced a virtual urgent care (VUC) pilot program to provide alternative access to urgent care services and reduce the need for in-person emergency department (ED) visits for patients with low acuity health concerns.

Objective: This study aims to compare the 30-day costs associated with VUC and in-person ED encounters from an MoH perspective.

Methods: Using administrative data from Ontario (the most populous province of Canada), a population-based, matched cohort study of Ontarians who used VUC services from December 2020 to September 2021 was conducted.
