Background: This study aimed to evaluate patency outcomes of arteriovenous grafts (AVGs) before and after using Duplex doppler ultrasonography (DUS) in preoperative mapping and surveillance of AVG.

Methods: In this single-centre, retrospective cohort study 212 patients receiving AVGs from January 2009 to December 2022 were included. In group 1, the creation of AVG as well as screening was based on physical examination alone.

Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices in Cardiac Transplant Patients: A Comprehensive Review.

A fraction of patients (approximately 10%) undergoing heart transplantation require permanent pacemaker (PPM) implantation due to sinus node dysfunction or atrioventricular block, occurring either shortly after surgery or later. The incidence of PPM implantation has declined to less than 5% with the introduction of bicaval anastomosis transplantation surgery. Pacing dependency during follow-up varies among recipients.

Effects of attentional focus on spatial localization of distal body parts and touch in two-arm position matching.

This study investigated how the judgment of proximal joint position can be affected by touch alone, focused attention on the distal body part, or touch spatial localization. Participants completed a two-arm elbow joint position-matching task, in which they indicated the location of one forearm by the placement of the other. In four test conditions, matching was performed during (1) detection of touch (tactile stimulation of index finger pads), (2) spatial localization of fingers (attention focused on the position of index finger pads), (3) spatial localization of touch on fingers (attention focused on tactile stimulation of index finger pads), and (4) detection of touch but localization of fingers (tactile stimulation of index finger pads, but attention focusing on the spatial position of the pads).

Background: Intrauterine transfusions (IUTs) are a life-saving treatment for fetal anemia. However, with each transfusion, iron bypasses uptake regulation through the placenta and accumulates in fetal organs. Unlike other imaging modalities, fetal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is capable of non-invasively assessing fetal liver disease and/or organ iron overload.

Application of melatonin and lipopeptides (LPs) derived from Bacillus strains is considered an efficient strategy to control plant diseases at both pre and postharvest stages. However, the combined application of melatonin and LPs has not been studied yet. Therefore, the present study presents the synergistic effect of melatonin and LPs produced by Bacillus atrophaeus strain MCM61 against gray mold disease and its impact on quality parameters and vase life of cut roses.
