Reduced expression of the IGFBP6 protein leads to an increase in the metastatic potential of breast cancer (BC) cells. The level of protein synthesis in tumor cells is increased, leading to a compensatory adjustment of proteostasis. One of the tools used to study proteostasis is protein toxins of the RIP-II family, which irreversibly inactivate ribosomes (particularly, viscumin).

As potentials spread away from the source populations, they become mixed in the recordings. In humans, interindividual differences in the gyral architecture of the cortex pose an additional challenge, as functional areas vary in location and extent.

We previously demonstrated that IGFBP6 expression is associated with the risk of early relapse of luminal breast cancer. Knockdown of IGFBP6 in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells increased their invasiveness, proliferation, and metastatic potential.

The crystals were imaged using cryogenic electron microscopy (cryoEM), and image analysis yielded a ~12 Å projection map.
