Pilomatrixomas in children: Report of 149 cases. A retrospective study at two children's hospitals.

A pilomatrixoma is a benign skin tumor common in children, which develops from the matrix cells of hair follicles. It presents as a nodule or tumor of approximately 0.5-3 cm in size, with calcium-like consistency, faceted edges, and blue erythematous overlying skin.

[Norwegian scabies in a pediatric patient with Down syndrome, a case report].

Norwegian (crusted) scabies is a rare and extreme manifestation of scabies that can be observed mainly among immunosuppressed patients. Due to the high number of scabies mites present in each lesion, crusted scabies symptoms are much more intense than in usual scabies and it is thus highly contagious. A case study of a child with Down syndrome and Norwegian scabies who shows a good response to a treatment combining keratolytics, emollients, ivermectin and topical scabicides is described.

[Tungiasis: a case report].

Tungiasis, is a cutaneous parasitosis, native of America caused by Tunga penetrans. Infestations usually presents with black papular lesions, either single or multiple, most of them localized on the feet, mainly in the subungual and periungual areas. Diagnosis of tungiasis is based on the characteristic aspect of the lesions in a patient coming from an endemic area.

[Sun protection questionnaire in Buenos Aires adolescent athletes].

Introduction: Excessive sun exposure is the major environmental factor in the development of skin cancer. Adolescents who play outdoor sports are highly exposed to ultraviolet rays, which will result in cumulative photodamage with a higher risk of developing skin cancer in adulthood.

Objectives: 1) To evaluate sun protection habits in Buenos Aires adolescent athletes.
