Phaeohyphomycosis is an uncommon disease caused by dematiaceous fungi that is almost exclusively found in immunocompromised dogs. Here we describe the case of a dog treated with prednisone (1.1 mg/kg/day) and cyclosporine (11.

Liver enzymopathy can occur with fluconazole administration, but the frequency of occurrence nor potentially associative factors have been explored in dogs with pulmonary coccidioidomycosis. Therefore, our objectives were to describe the occurrence and magnitude of liver enzyme activity (LEA) elevation in dogs with pulmonary coccidioidomycosis during treatment with fluconazole and identify variables associated with liver enzymopathy.

Human patients with T1DM commonly have cellular derangements consistent with inflammation, impaired immune function, and hypovitaminosis D. There is little information available regarding inflammatory biomarkers, immune function, and vitamin D status in diabetic dogs.

The classical form of EDS, primarily caused by variants in COL5A1 or COL5A2, is a very common subtype in people but is poorly characterized in dogs.
Objective: Describe likely causal COL5A1 variants in dogs with classical EDS, summarize clinical histories, discuss potential disease mechanisms, and draw conclusions about disease prognosis.
Objective: To evaluate temporal changes in serum C-reactive protein (CRP) and haptoglobin (Hp) concentrations in dogs with pulmonary coccidioidomycosis and assess their utility to detect remission.
Methods: 31 client-owned dogs with newly diagnosed pulmonary coccidioidomycosis from October 2020 to February 2021 were included in a retrospective cohort study that utilized archived serum. Serum was originally obtained at diagnosis and once every 3 months after antifungal administration until either remission or 12 months.
