Background And Objectives: Telemedicine has become a mainstay of ALS clinical care, but there is currently no standardized approach for assessing and tracking changes to the neurologic examination in this format. The goal of this study was to create a standardized telemedicine-based motor examination scale to objectively and reliably track ALS progression and use Rasch methodology to validate the scale and improve its psychometric properties.

Methods: A draft telemedicine examination scale with 25 items assessing movement in the bulbar muscles, neck, trunk, and extremities was created by an ALS expert panel, incorporating input from patient advisors.

A mixed phenotype is characteristic of de novo Mixed Phenotype Acute Leukemia (MPAL) but can also be seen in other leukemias. It poses substantial classification and management dilemmas. Herein, we report a large cohort of acute leukemia with a mixed phenotype and define Acute Myeloid Leukemia with Mixed Phenotype (AML-MP) and MPAL as two distinct groups by characterizing the clinical, genetic, and transcriptomic features.

Aims: People often drink alcohol and use other substances concurrently, increasing the risk of adverse health outcomes. Our aims were to: (i) assess temporal trends in tobacco and/or cannabis use by varying alcohol consumption levels and (ii) identify associated factors of polysubstance use in high-risk alcohol users.

Methods: We conducted a repeated cross-sectional study combining 2010-19 U.

Purpose: Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is an inflammatory cytokine implicated in various retinal pathologies and functions primarily through two signaling pathways: cis-signaling via IL-6 binding to its membrane-bound receptor (IL-6Rα), and trans-signaling via IL-6 binding to soluble IL-6 receptor (sIL-6R). Because the differential effects of IL-6 signaling in retinal Müller glial cells (MGCs) remain unclear, we generated an MGC-specific Il6ra-/- knockout (KO) mouse to eliminate IL-6Rα and, consequently, IL-6 cis-signaling in MGCs. In this study, we examined the proteomic changes in MGCs isolated from KO mice lacking a functional IL-6Rα.
