Objective:  Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) classically is diagnosed by radiographic demonstration of pneumatosis intestinalis/portal venous gas (PI/PVG). This study examines clinical characteristics of NEC confirmed by independent evaluation of abdominal radiographs, taken for clinical signs of NEC, or by pathologic findings at laparotomy or autopsy (confirmed NEC [cNEC]).

Study Design:  The investigated cohort included 1,382 extremely low birth weight (BW) infants (BW range: 500-1,000 g) with median 27 weeks (range: 23-32) gestational age (GA) at birth.

Introduction: Over the past decade, the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) proposed the option of diagnosing coeliac disease (CD) in children without duodenal biopsy. The aim of our study was to assess the diagnostic approach in newly diagnosed children with CD in Slovenia.

Methods: In this prospective study, Slovenian paediatric gastroenterologists were invited to provide medical records of children under 19 years diagnosed with CD from March 2021 to October 2023.

One of the most important attributes of anti-amyloid antibodies is their selective binding to oligomeric and amyloid aggregates. However, current methods of examining the binding specificities of anti-amyloid β (Aβ) antibodies have limited ability to differentiate between complexes that form between antibodies and monomeric or oligomeric Aβ species during the dynamic Aβ aggregation process. Here, we present a high-resolution native ion-mobility mass spectrometry (nIM-MS) method to investigate complexes formed between a variety of Aβ oligomers and three Aβ-specific IgGs, namely two antibodies with relatively high conformational specificity (aducanumab and A34) and one antibody with low conformational specificity (crenezumab).

Objectives: The authors sought to measure and compare practice preference variation in neonatal respiratory care within and between neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) using the Neonatology Survey of Interdisciplinary Groups in Healthcare Tool (NSIGHT).

Study Design: Eleven NICUs completed the NSIGHT between 2019 and 2021. Net preference was measured by mean response; agreement was ranked by standard distribution of response values.
