The role of intramolecular hydrogen bonding in photoelectron circular dichroism: the diastereoisomers of 1-amino-2-indanol.

(1,2)--Aminoindanol and (1,2)--aminoindanol, denoted as -AI and -AI, are diastereoisomer aromatic aminoalcohols differing by the presence of a weak intramolecular hydrogen bond in -AI, which is absent in -AI. They also differ by the number of conformers under supersonic jet conditions, one for -AI and two for -AI. One-photon and resonance-enhanced two-photon photoelectron circular dichroism (PECD) spectra are obtained for the two molecules.

Estimating protein intake in sarcopenic older adults: combining food diaries and weighed powders versus 24-hour urine collections.

Objectives: Adequate protein intake and protein supplementation has a beneficial role in the prevention and treatment of sarcopenia. The achievement and quantification of the recommended total protein intake by sarcopenic older adults receiving protein supplementation has not been studied. The aim of this study was to compare the accuracy of protein intake estimated from a combination of four-day food diaries and weighed protein powders against total protein intake estimated from 24-h urine samples.

Scabiosa artropurperea, a member of the Dipsacaceae family and Scabiosa genus, is renowned for its medicinal properties. In the present study, we investigated the impact of Scabiosa artropurperea aqueous extract (AES) on the in vivo reproductive functions in Queue Fine de l'Ouest ewes, and on in vitro ovine granulosa cells. Ewes were synchronized for 14 days with intra-vagina progesterone (P4) devices (FGA, 20 mg) and divided into four groups receiving daily oral doses of 0, 1, 2, and 4 mg of AES/kg Live Body Weight (LBW), respectively.

Our hypothesis is that PAHs accumulate in granulosa cells (Gc) according to body mass index (BMI) and directly affects its functions.
