- Low back pain is mainly caused by degeneration of the intervertebral disc, prompting research into microRNA (miRNA) therapies which can modulate discogenic factors and inhibit degeneration.
- Nonviral cell penetrating peptides (CPPs) are favored for delivering these miRNAs due to their targeted delivery and low immune response.
- Results showed that dual miRNA delivery significantly enhanced discogenic marker expression and created a regenerative environment, indicating potential benefits for improved treatments for IVD repair.
Tension gastrothorax is a rare and potentially fatal complication of a diaphragmatic hernia, in which a massively dilated, intrathoracic stomach compresses the lungs and mediastinum, causing cardiorespiratory compromise, in a mechanism akin to tension pneumothorax. Although it is very rare, tension gastrothorax has been reported in the literature; however, such reports are almost exclusively restricted to its clinical presentation and treatment in emergency departments. To the best of our knowledge, no adult autopsy case reports of tension gastrothorax have been reported in the literature.

Methods: A scoping review guided by the Joanna Briggs Institute Manual for Evidence Synthesis and the PRISMA-ScR checklist.
The cohesin complex is a critical regulator of gene expression. STAG2 is the most frequently mutated cohesin subunit across several cancer types and is a key tumor suppressor in lung cancer. Here, we coupled somatic CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing and tumor barcoding with an autochthonous oncogenic KRAS-driven lung cancer model and showed that STAG2 is uniquely tumor-suppressive among all core and auxiliary cohesin components.
